Giving Thanks and Staying Safe

It is clear our Thanksgiving dinner tables will look quite a bit different this year. Many of us will be celebrating the holidays virtually or with a very small group of people due to the pandemic. However, there are a few things you can do to make Thanksgiving feel somewhat normal despite the current circumstances. Here are just a few ways to celebrate Thanksgiving and give thanks this year:

  • Thanksgiving Zoom: Since we may not be able to connect with all of our loved ones this year, consider hosting a family or friend zoom to give thanks and celebrate. You can encourage people to bring their dinner plate and a glass of wine.
  • Baking: With much more time indoors this year, find your favorite pie or stuffing recipe and try it out. There are a number of online recipes and even virtual baking classes that can help you make the perfect food item.
  • Start a New Tradition: Since this year looks a bit different, it is the perfect time to start a new tradition. For example, find a holiday movie to watch, run a turkey trot around your neighborhood, or make a new special dish.
  • Donate: Try to give back! There are many communities in need right now given the pandemic. Drop off clothes, food, or donate money to a local organization who could use the support.

Hopefully, these tips allow you to have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year!
